THE RICHMOND RIVERFRONT - A walking tour along the canal and riverfront combines nature and history.

THE STATE CAPITOL & IT'S NEIGHBORS - An introduction to Virginia's state government and history.

THE PATRIOT'S TOUR OF RICHMOND - George Washington did not spend much time here, but the rest did. See the Richmond of Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe and Patrick Henry. 400 YEARS ON THE JAMES - The Story of Richmond—this tour covers the maximum number of SOL topics on a one day field trip.

THE EMBATTLED CAPITAL - This tour will take you to the sites where history was made and will bring the Civil War to life with our Richmond Alive! characters (see below).

RICHMOND'S BLACK HERITAGE - From Bill "Bojangles" Robinson to Arthur Ashe, from Maggie Walker to Doug Wilder- Richmond has one of the deepest and proudest African-American heritages in the nation.

HOLLYWOOD CEMETERY - Look for art and symbolism in the stones of this Victorian cemetery, visit the graves of presidents and generals. A great walking tour!

LIFE OF THE CIVIL WAR SOLDIER

This unique program features the life of the average Civil War soldier. Our soldier comes with a complete display of both military and personal equipment. From flags to firearms, food to uniforms, musical instruments to medicines, rally ‘round and see Civil War camp life coming alive right before your eyes! Add to all this a healthy dose of humor and you have a program your group will long remember.

MAKING DO: THE LIFE ON THE SOUTHERN HOMEFRONT DURING THE CIVIL WAR

What would you do if you could no longer get items that you used to?  During the Civil War civilians in the South had to be very resourceful coming up with new ways to make do.  Meet a civilian woman and find out about family life in general as well as what substitutes were being used for coffee, candles, shoe polish, and more.
